Dallas Restaurants and Bars Step Up to Help Houston Hurricane Victims: Relief from the North

As Houston and the Texas Coast continue to face the devastating effects of Harvey, North Texans have been quick to let victims of the storm know that they’re not alone. Many Dallas area businesses have jumped at the chance to help relief efforts by raising funds, holding supply drives, or organizing benefit events.

Here are a few little ways you can help make a difference at Dallas restaurants and bars – from raising a glass at happy hour, to ordering a pizza, to dropping off much-needed supplies at neighborhood eateries.

— From 5 p.m. until close on Tuesday, August 29, Canne Rosso in Deep Ellum will donate 100 percent of the evening’s sales to relief efforts.

— In the Knox-Henderson hood, Nora is donating 25 percent of dinner sales to the Red Cross on Tuesday, August 29.

— Cattleack Barbecue – named one of Texas’ best BBQ joints – will donate a portion of all their sales Thursday through Saturday to the Salvation Army.

— This week, Fearing’s at the Ritz will donate 10 percent of all happy hour sales to relief efforts.

— On Wednesday, August 30, Happiest Hour will donate a portion of its happy hour sales to relief efforts.

— In Richardson, The Free Play Arcade is donating all proceeds from ticket sales on Wednesday, August 30, from 7p.m. to close.

— On Thursday, August 31, sister bars Double Wide and Single Wide will donate 100 percent of sales to relief efforts.

— Plano’s Winners BBQ is donating a part of their sales to Houston Texans star J.J. Watt’s YouCaring fundraiser all week.

— Fish City Grill is holding a Cup of Hope fundraiser to help relief efforts, and will donate a portion of sales for every cup of soup sold.

— Buda Juice will donate $1 for every bottle purchased on Saturday, September 2 to Feeding Texas.

— The GEM will donate 10% of all purchases through next week to Harvey relief efforts.

— Posh sweet shop Kate Weiser Chocolate is taking donations for the massive evacuee shelter at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. Bring a case of water to contribute and you’ll get a complimentary box of two chocolates. They are also accepting donations of blankets, toiletries, men’s and women’s underwear, sweat pants, cotton T-shirts, socks, diapers, baby formula, baby wipes, onesies and Pack ‘n Plays.

— Emporium Pies is accepting donations of diapers at all three locations this week and will deliver them to shelters for distribution.

— Sandwich Hag is accepting donations for Trusted World to be distributed at Dallas area shelters. Drop off donations of men’s, women’s and children’s warmups, socks, pillows, bedding, towels, flip flops or shower shoes, baby supplies and Pack ‘n Plays at the restaurant in the Cedars.

— The Monkey King Noodle Co. is also accepting donations on behalf of Trusted World at their locations in Deep Ellum and Carrollton.

— RBC in Deep Ellum is holding a benefit party this evening, Tuesday, August 29 to raise money for Houston relief efforts. The event is free with donation and features performances by Carlyle, Junk Food, The John Stewart and more.

— Central Track is working with bars and restaurants across the city to organize a massive one-night fundraiser on September 6. Participating venues will donate 20 percent of sales to Trusted World for relief efforts. See the list of venues here.

— The Eberhard is holding Houston Relief Giveback Night on Thursday, August 31. From 10 p.m. to close, the bar will donate a portion of sales to relief efforts.
