Whether you’re in the mood to dance the night away, or you’re looking forward to a glorious dinner with friends, we’ve gathered a list of some of the best last-minute fêtes Houston has to offer.

ANVIL BAR & REFUGE

Count down your favorite spirits of 2015 at Anvil’s New Year’s Eve bash. The bar will announce its favorite spirit of the year on December 31, and guests receive half-off this year’s Top 10 List. A complimentary champagne toast and balloon drop takes place at midnight.

B&B BUTCHERS & RESTAURANT

Ring in the New Year with beef, booze and bubbles at B&B Butchers’ first New Year’s Eve celebration. Guests can order from the steakhouse’s succulent dinner and cocktail menu, party favors included, all while listening to the sounds of Motown from Yvonne Washington & The Mix.

The morning after your NYE fête, kick off 2016 with New Year’s Day brunch at Beaver’s. Festive menu items include black-eyed pea jambalaya-stuffed cabbage rolls ($10), champagne punch cocktails ($5), Bloody Marys ($9), the Beaver Mary (vodka, tomato juice-infused with bruised celery, garlic, wasabi, pepper, salt, lime and Big Daddy’s Hot Sauce), the Squealin’ Mary (housemade bacon-infused vodka, bacon and sugar salt rim, Beaver mary mix and candied bacon), the Mary Jane (vodka, cucumber, cilantro, green tomatoes, tomatillos and ginger) and the Mescal Bloody Mary.

New Year’s Eve at Heights newcomer Black & White is priced at $90 and offers a three-course seafood dinner of roasted octopus tostada (octopus ceviche served over a garlic and guajillo chili mayo spread on a crispy, corn tortilla with a slice of avocado), tenderloin and lobster (topped with foie gras and a brandy reduction, served with asparagus risotto) and blackened mahi mahi (topped with a miso reduction, served with grilled asparagus and mixed greens).

CRU FOOD & WINE BAR

Before a night out on the town, stop by Cru for a special New Year’s Eve dinner. The wine bar is offering a three-course prix-fixe menu that includes items like Maine lobster and jumbo lump crab scampi, Fuji apple salad, roasted rack of lamb, roasted duck breast, molten chocolate lava cake and white chocolate mousse with a crispy caramel tuile.

Bring in 2016 with Chef Don Schoenburg at The Durham House. Schoenburg will present a five-course prix-fixe menu for $90. Expect dishes like smoked kampachi with kampachi, avocado sorbet and mignonette; charred beet salad with red and yellow beets, chevre, fennel and roasted shallot vinaigrette; butter-poached lobster with sweetbreads, artichokes, mâche and shellfish emulsion; cinnamon-rubbed pork with ancient grains, charred scallions and red mole; and apple tart tatin with roasted apples, Fat Cat Creamery ice cream and caramel sauce.

Jazz into the New Year at the Four Seasons Hotel’s 1st annual New Year’s Eve Jazz Gala. Tickets include an interactive multi-course dining menu (some dishes will be prepared in the ballroom for guests) with wine pairings, a balloon drop, a midnight champagne toast and a performance by musician Paul English.

The Hotel ZaZa’s annual New Year’s Eve bash is never a bad idea. For $75, prepare for a night of endless dancing, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a live DJ. A special four-course dinner awaits at La Table’s New Year’s Eve fête. Courses include lobster parfait, caviar service, foie gras raviolo, and Mediterranean sea bass. River Oaks hot spot State of Grace kicks off its first New Years Eve with an $85 prix-fixe menu, as well as full oyster bar service. Dishes include an array of menu items like the lobster hushpuppies (a personal favorite), gulf blue crab “gumbo” with hill country smoked sausage, and Texas quail served with pepper jelly, cotija grits, bacon and mustard greens. Dinner includes a midnight champagne toast.

In the mood for a Las Vegas-style New Year’s Eve? Midtown newcomer Tarakaan has you covered. The Pan-Asian restaurant offers a four-course prix-fixe menu for its first New Year’s Eve. Menu options include the Tarakaan tower, tandoori lobster salad, Wagyu vindaloo, Badmassh roasted chicken, Tarakaan’s signature Pandan panna cotta and chai chocolate pot de crime. The party heats up at 10 pm with a DJ, followed by a midnight champagne toast. Bonus: Tarakaan is offering Moët bottle specials starting at $65 from 11 pm to 2 am.
