The bold red-and-yellow signage is unmistakable: The Halal Guys eatery has arrived, with foodies forming queues around the building on Lemmon Avenue.

What began as a New York City food cart 25 years ago now has stops everywhere from L.A. to the Philippines. Lemmon Avenue may be far from The Halal Guys’ original home at West 53rd and Sixth Avenue, but the Dallas locale boasts the same crave-worthy gyro, chicken, and falafel sandwiches topped with Halal’s famous red or white sauce.

Hummus, pita bread, and traditional baklava round out the offerings.

The Halal Guys, 5444 Lemmon Ave., 469.729.9929.
