Wines We’re Drinking Now:* A Fresh, Lively Rosé From France

BY // 07.20.15

Cinsault, grenache, and syrah. Those three grapes are what make Sacha Lichine’s Single Blend Rosé, a bottle of which I shared with a friend this past weekend. It was pleasantly dry, strawberry notes on the nose, and possessed very good balance. Direct pressing, aged with a bâtonnage. This 2014 is a fresh, lively, and straightforward wine, and is perfect for warm-weather sipping. We were eating some some bread and cheese, and this rosé was the ideal companion.

Sacha Lichine, the man whose name is on the label, is a member of the family behind Château Prieure Lichine, which he took over at age 27. In 2006, he acquired Chateau d’Esclans, expanding his rosé portfolio. You’ll find the Sacha Lichine at local stores for around $10.
