The 2017 Addison Rotary Open Golf Tournament presented by The Addison Rotary Foundation and benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) is scheduled for Monday, September 11 at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano. The Addison Rotary Open has raised more than $1.7 million for RMHD over the past nine years.
Offering both a morning and afternoon flight, registration for the tournament’s four-man team scrambles will open at 7 a.m. with a continental breakfast, or at 12:30 p.m. with lunch. Shotgun Starts will take place at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively. Lunch and awards will be presented at the completion of morning play, while appetizers and awards will also be offered after the afternoon round. All golfers will receive goodie bags and enjoy fun games throughout the course.
“This tournament always attracts enthusiastic participation because of the direct support it offers to our families,” said Jill Cumnock, Chief Executive Officer of RMHD. “Each individual player spot covers the cost of six nights at the House, which can make the difference for a family enduring the struggle of a sick or seriously injured child.”
The Addison Rotary Foundation is a non-profit organization established to address community issues through service projects such as the Addison Rotary Open. The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas provides a home-away-from-home for 1,200 families each year while their children are receiving treatment for illnesses or injuries at Dallas hospitals. The House serves a critical need for those who stay there, all of whom come from distances greater than 40 miles away from Dallas. Although RMHD asks guest families to contribute only $15 per night, no family is ever turned away for an inability to pay.
Sponsorships are still available ranging from Gold at $1,250 (10 family nights), Platinum at $2,500 (20 family nights), Love at $5,000 (40 family nights) to Diamond at $10,000 (80 family nights), while individual playing spots are $750 (6 family nights). Registration and additional information about the Addison Rotary Open is available online, while information on sponsorships and other ways to contribute are available through tournament chair Justin Shoemaker at email@example.com.
