Heart Walk is the signature fundraising event of the American Heart Association’s Healthy For Good campaign. Healthy For Good is designed to inspire all Americans to live healthier lives and create lasting change. It focuses on the simple idea that making small, simple changes today can create a difference for generations to come. The approach is simple: Eat smart. Add color. Move more. Be well. The Texas Medical Center is the local Healthy For Good platform sponsor.

Opening ceremonies begin at 8:00 a.m. with the walk kicking off at 9:00 a.m. Heart disease remains the no. 1 killer of Americans, claiming over 800,000 lives each year. That’s one person every 40 seconds and more than all forms of cancer combined. Second only to the federal government, the American Heart Association is a key funder for cardiovascular and stroke research, contributing nearly $13M in current funding to the Texas Medical Center. The fundraising goal for the 2017 Houston Heart Walk is $3M.

Tariff: FREE! As always, there is no registration fee for the Houston Heart Walk, but donations are appreciated. Fundraisers who secure a minimum of $100 will receive a free event t-shirt. To register, visit www.houstonheartwalk.org.
