Event description Houston, TX January 29th, 2024 – Houston Christian Theatreworks is presenting their renowned winter musical. This year they are performing the famous and widely loved, Les Misérables! Les Misérables is a sweeping tale that spans decades, exploring the intricate lives of its characters amidst the backdrop of post-revolutionary France. Jean Valjean’s journey from a paroled ex-convict to a transformed man seeking redemption sets the stage for a narrative rich in societal critique, personal struggle, and the enduring power of love. HC’s Tommy Tune award winning director and prestigious theater program attracts a wide audience of people from around Houston. This production of Les Misérables isn’t just a show; it’s a celebration of the arts, a testament to the power of community, and an opportunity for Houston Christian theater students to showcase their immense talent. With a cast and crew of approx 140 students performing at the state of the art Dunham Theater at HCU (7502 Fondren Rd), this show rivals any spectacular winter event in Houston! The theater itself, which has 46,000 square feet and seats up to 1,200 audience members, has received rave reviews for its acoustical performance. The show is for everyone, whether they are a huge fan of the Broadway show Les Miserable, a theater or music nut, enjoy world class entertainment for the fraction of the cost of the visiting Broadway production or want to have their mind blown by the talent of those students.
