For Houston’s food obsessed, the go-to source for the best places to eat in the city is about to drop: Allison Cook’s coveted top 100 restaurant list will be unveiled at the Houston Chronicle’s fourth annual Culinary Stars celebration, September 14 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Houston Chronicle building.

Guests at the event will be able to mix and mingle with top Houston-area chefs while enjoying outstanding food from more than 30 restaurants along with wines from 20 different estates. Cook’s anticipated list will be announced during the party.

All attendees will receive a free copy of the September issue of the Chronicle’s glossy Luxe Life magazine, which includes a special section dedicated to the list with reviews, photos and recommendations on what to order at each restaurant.

General admission tickets for this event are $100. VIP Tickets for $150 include: 5:30 p.m. early admission with access to premium wine; VIP gift bag; keepsake wine glass; and a copy of Luxe Life signed by Cook. Subscribers will receive the magazine with their paper the following day.

Alison Cook, who will attend Culinary Stars, has been the Houston Chronicle’s restaurant critic since 2002. In her long career as a food and restaurant writer, she has earned two James Beard Foundation Awards for restaurant criticism, as well as the coveted M.F.K. Fisher Award for Distinguished Writing. She has been the food writer for Conde Nast House & Garden and has served as the restaurant critic for Texas Monthly. Her writing, on food and many other topics, has appeared in Esquire, GQ, the New York Times Magazine, Gourmet, Saveur, Food & Wine, Vogue, Travel & Leisure and Business Week.
