What

Note: Bivins Gallery presents Jack Whitten: Earlier Works from April 1- May 6, 2017. Created during a five-year period in the late 1960s, the paintings and works on paper featured in Jack Whitten: Earlier Works reference race, cosmology, music, and politics. Influenced by personal relationships with William de Kooning, Martin Luther King, Jr., Miles Davis, Philip Guston, and Franz Kline, the abstractions reflect the social and political turmoil of the era. The conversation will be joined by Dallas’s own local artist Spencer Evans, whose work references issues of identity and image in the black community.  Complimentary valet parking is available.
