What

One of the great musical examples of Romantic scene painting, the Hebrides Overture uniquely takes the listener on a musical journey to a dark windswept cave off the coast of Scotland. Mendelssohn, a child prodigy and ardent traveler, set off at the age of 20, to explore the rugged beauty of Scotland. Moved by a ferry ride to the Hebrides Islands, he drafted the evocative opening on the spot. Conducted by Gemma New.

We invite you to be the first to hear Emmy-nominated composer Kareem Roustom’s Second Violin Concerto, composed for DSO principal second violinist Angela Fuller-Heyde.
