HOUSTON, TX – Raising money for Four of Houston’s “Ultimate Most Specialest” Charities, Houston celebrities are teaming up for another year in a friendly competition to raise money for prominent Houston charities. Four Houston celebrities are back together to raise money for a cause and to have some fun while doing it. It’s the Ultimate Most Dopest Dodgeball Charity Challenge hosted by Former MLS player and Houston’s own, Brian Ching. The dodgeball event will take place Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Pitch 25 | 2120 Walker, Houston, TX 77003.

The team captains, who are playing for their own charities, are no other than NFL Veteran Whitney Mercilus, representing the WithMerci Foundation; the WithMerci Foundation provides advocate services and support to families of children with disabilities and special needs. NFL Safety Justin Reid, throwing balls for J. Reid Indeed; JReid InDeed is a charitable organization that focuses on equipping and funding disadvantaged youth and communities through programs, community engagement and technology access. Original Texan Chester Pitts, leading the way for Carson Parke; Carson Parke provides long-term residential treatment to girls, ages 12 to 17, with serious to severe emotional and behavioral problems from all backgrounds, including low-income families. Last, Houston’s favorite deejay, DJ Big Reeks, playing for the ARMM Foundation (Ado RMM); The ARMM Foundation educates those affected by kidney disease with the most up-to-date and accurate information available. ARMM also provides support services such as treatments and transportation. Lastly ARMM assist patients in finding the best medical care.

Last year, Team J. Reid took home the trophy. “I was strategic and put together the strongest team, so it makes sense why I won and will win again this year. I am even more excited because this year I’m throwing balls for my own charity, J.Reid InDeed,” NFL Safety Justin Reid said.

Each captain will put together their dopest team of 10 to play for the trophy. Each captain will recruit their celebrity friends and charity patrons. Winners from each match will move on to determine who plays in the final round to be crowned the Ultimate Most Dopest Dodgeball Champion. Celebrities who played last year for the cause was Houston Texans Jonathan Owens and Houston Texans David Johnson for Team J. Reid. NFL legend Cecil Shorts III joined the competition with his former teammate Original Texan Chester Pitts. Entertainer Paul Wall and reality television star from OWN Ready to Love, Christian Pope joined forces with celebrity deejay, DJ Big Reeks. Actor and Comedian Jeff Shelley, Houston Texans’ Jon Weeks, Ka’imi Fairbairn and Jacob Martin joined their former teammate NFL veteran Whitney Mercilus.
