Despite its deep Dallas roots, Forty Five Ten turned to newbie Manhattan friends when hosting the grand opening of its Hudson Yards outpost. On this special evening, designers, stylists, models and glam fashionistas populated the uber-chic emporium in the $25 billion project that has all of New York buzzing.

We must assume that the logic behind the limited invitation list was that New York trendsetters are the target audience. After all, Texans have the flagship in Dallas and outposts in Napa and Aspen to shop for cutting-edge emerging and pillar designers.

Forty Five Ten president and chief creative officer Kristen Cole, smashing in Rodarte, and her husband, Joe Cole, senior veep of retail and hospitality of Headington Companies, rolled out the red carpet for guests as did Jeny Bania, vice president of public relations and marketing for Headington Companies. She stepped out in Area, an emerging designer carried in 4510/SIX. Also joining in the red carpet welcome was store manager Carrie Turner, fresh from her post as assistant GM at Saks Fifth Avenue, New York.

Headington bought Forty Five Ten from its founders in 2014 and began the expansion that has extended beyond Dallas city limits. Billionaire, Academy Award-winning producer and Headington CEO Tim Headington was tied up with a movie project and unable to make the launch.

As partygoers spread across the two-story, 16,000-square foot fashion extravaganza, the ever-fetching Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, whose jewelry creations for James Banks Design are carried at Forty Five Ten, were at the focus of stargazers.

So who were those ultra-fashionable guests preening through the store designed in collaboration with Snarkitecture?

Fashion designer Peter Som, Russian supermodel Valentina Zelyaeva, Elizabeth and James senior designer Romy Chan, independent creative director Marcus Teo, Italian fashion designer Italo Zucchelli, stylist Brandon Garr, model Ashley Haas, chief style officer of Mayfair Rocks in the Hamptons  Lauren Levison, Miami developer Matthew Vander Werff, president at Anna Sheffield Fine Jewelry Barbara Bisoni, Bergdorf senior veep Linda Fargo, artist and printmaker Pamela Dove and the zany Chong Cha with her well-dressed pooches in tow.

It was quite an opening night for the glittering vertical mall. New York’s The Real Deal reports that thousands of invitation-only guests poured through the mall where entertainment included a marching band, tap dancers, a capella singers and other performance artists. Neiman Marcus, with the opening of its first New York outpost, tapped Liza Minnelli to wow the crowd with “New York, New York.”
