The shopping scene in Houston is forever changing — and growing more upscale. It can be difficult to keep up with all the new stores and big events, but don’t worry: PaperCity has you covered.

Contemporary brand Joie opens its first Houston boutique in River Oaks District on Sunday, October 16. Joie is best known for its casual, luxe designs, which includes women’s apparel, accessories, and shoes. The new store, which marks the brand’s 20th boutique, stocks Joie’s signature collections including Joie, Joie Soft, and Joie Shoes.

Montrose Shop owner Kim Nguyen debuts her second concept — Parcs and Rec. — this fall. Expect the Montrose Shop’s similar minimalist style with the addition of men’s and children’s collections.

Lilly Pulitzer opens this fall in Highland Village Shopping Center, carrying the full spectrum of Lillys – women’s, children’s, and home.

Paloma, one of the city’s first toxin-free nail salons, opens this month at 1700 Post Oak Boulevard in BLVD Place. Owner Maryam Naderi features “five-free” polish brands including Chanel, Dior, Deborah Lippman, Jinsoon, RMS, and SpaRitual.

Couture children’s line Bonpoint debuted its first Houston boutique in River Oaks District. The shop stocks apparel for newborns, babies, boys, and girls, as well as Bonpoint-branded hypoallergenic skincare and signature scents.

River Oaks District boutique Baanou adds popular Australian brand Thurley to its inventory. Baanou carries brands including Houston’s own Amir Taghi, C/MEO Collective, Eddie Borgo, FRAME Denim, Finders Keepers, and Keepsake. Thurley makes its debut on Baanou’s racks at the end of the month.

Nordstrom teams up with J.Crew for an curated in-store collection featuring J.Crew’s assorted apparel (think Italian cashmere, statement blazers, and tailored outerwear) as well as a bevy of accessories. Nordstrom Houston Galleria serves as one of only 16 markets to carry the collection.

TRUNK SHOWS AND PERSONAL APPEARANCES
Kick Pleat 
welcomes the design duo behind jewelry and accessories collection Lizzie Fortunato — sisters Kathryn and Lizzie Fortunato. The New York-based pair, whose designs have been featured in publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, and The New York Times, host a trunk show and meet-and-greet showcasing their fall collection on Friday, September 23 from 2 to 6 pm. Tootsies welcomes Bohemian jewelry designer Matthew Campbell Laurenza for a trunk show and personal appearance on Wednesday, September 21 through Friday, September 23.

Neiman’s also hosts a Dian Malouf trunk show on Friday, September 16 from 10 am to 5 pm; a Vendura trunk show Monday, September 19 through Friday, September 23 from 10 am to 5 pm; and a Picchiotti trunk show on Wednesday, September 28 through the 29th from 10 am to 5 pm.

Footwear designer Giuseppe Zanotti kicks off Saks’ September trunk shows with a caravan show on Thursday, September 15. Zegna‘s Made-To-Measure trunk show follows on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17 from 10 am to 5 pm. Jewelry designer Vhemier is featured on Tuesday, September 20 through the 21st. Two events take place on Thursday, September 22 — Lafayette 148 New York hosts a personal appearance from 3 to 6 pm, and a Nina Gilin trunk show extends through Friday, September 23.
