I W Marks Loves Mom Challenge is Back

BY // 04.24.19

‘Tis the season for big names with big hearts. It is mom season. I W Marks is again launching its I W Marks Loves Mom Challenge, where four contestants will compete on behalf of a charity of their choice.

Cast your vote now for your favorite Houston notable and their charity of choice in PaperCity’s newest poll. The winning charity (decided by you) will receive a $2,500 donation from the renowned Houston jeweler.

Last year, Deborah Duncan and the charity Santa Maria Hostel took the charity win while going against Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers, celebrity chef Chris Shepherd and Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

This year, new challengers are taking the spotlight. Tiziana Ciacciofera (Triolo) and her daughter Désirée Triolo, Instagram fitness stars; Olympic gold medalist Chad Hedrick and his wife Lynsey; Tony’s chef Austin Waiter; and Houston lawyer Amanda Weeks are stepping into the forefront with worthy causes.

Tiziana Ciacciofera (Triolo) and her daughter Désirée Triolo will be competing on behalf of the American Cancer Society of Houston. After coordinating special events for Toulouse and Taverna here in Houston, Tiziana began coordinating fundraising events for the American Cancer Society in 2017. She has also devoted time to volunteering at MD Anderson’s Pediatric Division, donating educational cooking classes and working with pediatric cancer patients.

The Hedricks love their faith, and love CoreLuv. The Christian organization works to restore hope to children, families and communities in nations around the world. It works in impoverished communities and orphanages to provide basic necessities.

After witnessing the profound impact organ donation can have, Tony’s chef de cuisine Austin Waiter chose to partner with Donate Life America. Donate Life America leads its national partners and Donate Life State Teams to increase the number of donated organs, eyes and tissues available for transplantation. They are working tirelessly to cultivate a culture where donation is embraced and viewed as a human responsibility.

Amanda Weeks is a renowned Houston attorney, beloved mother to a 2-year-old daughter and wife of longtime Houston Texans long snapper Jon Weeks. Amanda is competing for Child Advocates, where she serves on the advisory board. Child Advocates provides lifesaving advocacy to help abused and neglected children exit foster care, and enter into safe, permanent homes.

Vote for your favorite Houston difference maker and cause below. You can vote once per day — just make sure you get your votes in. Voting ends at the end of Mother’s Day, March 12.
