Paris’ Uber-Stylish Luggage Rolls Into Texas: Dallas Lands First Lone Star State Store

BY // 04.04.16

Several years ago in Paris, I became smitten with the Longchamp Le Pliage tote, a beautiful canvas bag with signature leather flap and equestrian logo. The chic and sturdy classic held my travel essentials and remains an accessory staple to this day, so I’m thrilled to expand my collection as Longchamp’s first Texas store opens in NorthPark Center this month.

The French brand, founded in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, is still owned by the family and was named for the thoroughbred racetrack at Bois de Boulogne park — the Cassegrain family name had been claimed by another business. The Dallas boutique stocks the full run of bags, luggage, small leather goods, men’s carryalls, scarves and travel essentials including passport holders, wallets and luggage tags.

In a decorative play on Longchamp’s beloved notion of the fold (le pli), accordion-like displays showcase a rainbow of the most sought-after styles: Le Pliage, Le Pliage Heritage, Le Pliage Cuir, Pénélope, Roseau and Honoré 404. Longchamp, NorthPark Center, 214.987.6999.
