What: American Heart Association Circle of Red fourth annual Red Fashion Show

Where: Elizabeth Anthony in Uptown Park

PC Moment: It was standing room only in the luxe fashion boutique when AHA major donors (ie Circle of Red members) turned out to view the must-have looks of the upcoming seasons, all presented on, appropriately enough, a red hot catwalk. Elizabeth Anthony owner Julie Roberts, a Circle of Red participant, hosted the gathering and arranged for the fashion presentation that featured the designs of Talbot Runhof, Tyler Ellis and Katherine Jetter.

In addition to the fashion fun, Nicki James Petrelli, attorney and mother of two, provided the sobering message behind the Circle of Red by sharing her story of suffering a stroke at the age of 27 and undergoing corrective surgery for an undiagnosed congenital heart defect.

A percentage of sales from the evening and through the weekend were donated to the Houston Go Red for Women Campaign, resulting in $8,300 headed for AHA coffers. Special guest was jewelry designer Katherine Jetter, known for her amazing work with Australian opals which she embellishes with diamonds and precious gems.

Seeing Red: Houston Methodist’s Dr. Julia Andrieni, Gary Roberts, Bobbie Nau, Regay Hildreth, Roseann Rogers, Myrtle Jones, Memorial Hermann’s Dr. Monica Patel, Jane Wagner, Maica Walker, Dr. Sonni Estill, Britney McMillan, Lara Kopriva, and Dawn Cornell.
