The Heights Gets a Trendy New Nail Salon That Proves Beauty Can Be Natural: This Pampering Palace Continues a Texas Revolution — and Dallas Could Be Next

BY // 06.12.18

Houston’s first non-toxic salon, Paloma Beauty, is spreading its healthy gospel, expanding from its original location on Post Oak Boulevard to a second salon at the Heights Mercantile development. It’s also adding affordable facials to the pampering menu.

Those familiar with the original location in BLVD Place will feel quite at home in Paloma’s new digs. Content Architecture, which just won a PaperCity Design Award for its work on the original Paloma, crafted a similarly serene environment for the new location. The 1,400 square foot space, noted for its clean lines and cool vibes, includes seven comfortable pedicure stations and six manicure stations.

Paloma owner Maryam Naderi is passionate about changing the way the beauty industry, particularly the nail care industry, considers the products they use and the environment in which they serve their customers. The new location offers the same quality manicures and pedicures free of scary nail chemicals, in line with the original Paloma’s non-toxic mantra.

Just as regular bi-weekly (or weekly for the extra dedicated) nail appointments are engrained in the modern woman as common practice, Naderi is out to make consistent and affordable facial services as accessible as the standing mani/pedi appointment.

“Not everyone can go spend $300 at the nearest high-end spa once a month to take care of your skin”  Naderi says. “This is an attainable way to make facials fully a part of your routine.”

Naderi consulted with celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas on products and every detail of the facial process to ensure that the facials at Paloma meet the highest standards. With high-profile salons in both New York and Los Angeles, Vargas boasts a stable of star clients including Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts and Sofia Coppola.

The facial products are, of course, non-toxic and most of them are exclusive in the Houston market to Paloma including Vargas’ custom signature line, OneLove Organics, plus Ursa Major and MD Solar Science.

With a 50-minute customized facial priced at $85, a beauty care lover can swing a monthly visit and make it a one-stop shop for nail care as well. Short on time? A 30-minute Instant Glow Facial is on the menu to provide cleansing and hydration for a fresh and dewy look.

Naderi is setting out to change the way women approach their beauty routines one salon at a time. There are rumblings that a Dallas location is also on the horizon.
