The New Uptown Park Means Fresh Restaurants, a Whole New Look, Wi-Fi Perks and Art: This is a Shopping District Worthy of Houston’s World-Class Standing

Time and time again, the vibrant Uptown Park has proven that it’s up for anything — for anyone. Now, after an impressive and all-encompassing transformation, that’s truer than ever. This radical, buzz-worthy revamp means Uptown Park speaks a new language: yours.

There has always been something for everyone here. Now, there’s even more. The myriad shopping and restaurant offerings are elevated — and the stature of Houston is elevated too.

“Modernizing Uptown Park into a social hub by adding new restaurants and retailers continues to build Houston’s appeal as a world-class city,” says Tom Kiler, managing director at EDENS, the retail real estate owner, operator and developer that owns Uptown Park — and more than 125 retail spaces nationwide.

Houston’s stylish open air shopping center has been reimagined, with exciting health-centric restaurants, Flower Child and Mendocino Farms (coming 2019), added to an already impressive list of food spots: Etoile Cuisine et Bar, Songran Thai Kitchen, McCormick & Schmick’s, The Tasting Room, Uptown Sushi, Starbucks, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Café Express, Araya Chocolate and Crave Cupcakes.

Flower Child is a breath of fresh air from Arizona, promising wellness, one scratch-made bite at a time. There are locally sourced natural and organic dishes, perfect for the most health-conscious eaters and foodies alike.

Mendocino Farms, a chef-driven fast casual concept from sunny California offering premium sandwiches and salads, is just as fresh. Food artisans and farmers make each seasonally rotating dish happen. The restaurant will open in 2019.

“We’ve long had restaurant guests passing through California from Texas who discover our food and beg us to open in their home state,” said Mario Del Pero, co-founder of Mendocino Farms. “We’re thrilled to have partnered with EDENS to join the Uptown Park community and provide a welcoming neighborhood gathering place for local foodies and families.”

The addition of these inviting fit food restaurants symbolizes the redeveloped aesthetics of Uptown Park. The shopping district has devoted time and energy to creating an energetic, welcoming environment that embraces the ample outdoor green space with trellises. EDENS promises more dining selections to come in 2019 as well.

Right in the middle of it all, but beyond the bustle, Uptown Park is an elegant shopping and dining destination like no other in Houston. Uptown Park’s manicured walkways, soft white lights and host of luxurious boutiques cater to those who appreciate a life well lived and one beautiful setting.

The renovation is a fresh take on Uptown Park’s beloved brand.

All building facades have been modernized, boasting a clean new aesthetic, maximized storefronts and brightened exterior colors. Pedestrians can now stroll along shaded pathways that connect the buildings, creating one comprehensive community.

Parking has been redesigned to create outdoor conversation areas to while the days away and enjoy the air of the evenings. Shoppers and diners can unwind and socialize in a safe environment and feel like they’re a world away from the city.

Even more thoughtful details are on the way, like public Wi-Fi and custom benches for those who want to soak up the sunshine while they work on their laptops. The property’s common areas will be refreshed with art.

“We are working diligently to infuse the diversity and personality found across Houston at Uptown Park, so visitors can expect collaborations with artists, events with local charities and experiences that highlight Houston’s position as a global, first-class city,” Kiler says.
