Celeb Architect Talks Stunning Manhattan Lofts, Schools that Wow & Russian Shrines: A Dallas Moment Awaits

Amale Andraos, architect of choice for museums around the world and fashion power players such as Diane von Furstenberg and Dallas native Lela Rose, will speak at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 1 at the Dallas Museum of Art, as a part of the Dallas Architecture Forum’s lecture series.

In addition to the stunning Manhattan lofts she did for Furstenberg and Rose, Andraos will discuss some of the game-changing projects that have brought her international acclaim, such as as the New Holland Island Cultural Center in St. Petersburg, Russia; the Blaffer Museum in Houston; the Children’s Museum of the Arts in Manhattan; and the Edible Schoolyard at P.S. 216 in Brooklyn.

Currently the Dean of Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, she is also the co-founder of the NYC-based firm, WORKac. Andraos has taught at numerous universities including Princeton University School of Architecture, and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she has a master’s degree.

The event is co-sponsored by UTA College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs, and is free to Forum members.
