After much anticipation, custom cabinet and kitchen manufacturer Christopher Peacock has opened its doors in the Dallas Design District. Founded in 1992 in Greenwich, Connecticut, by British designer Christopher Peacock, the Dallas location joins Christopher Peacock outposts in Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Boston, Greenwich, London and Cannes.

Dallas was a perfect fit for the company’s turnkey, custom approach, says Peacock.

“Two of our biggest projects were in the area, and I really felt excited by what I was seeing happening in the Design District,” he says. “The high end market is very strong in Dallas and there is obviously a very sophisticated design community already in place. The more I talked to the community the more I felt this was the perfect move for us.”

Primarily known for its luxurious kitchens, Christopher Peacock also specializes in exquisite libraries, food pantries, bathrooms, closets and dressing rooms. Each space is designed and built to suit, using  traditional construction methods, custom hardware, fittings, and specialty countertops in marble, stone, or butcher block.

Christopher Peacock often works with designers or directly with clients to design an entire kitchen, down to the pots, plates, and glassware.

Its most popular kitchen design, the Scullery Collection, is a classic “cook’s kitchen” that would have been found below stairs in England’s grand town homes and country estates, it is coveted for its proprietary latch and pull hardware designs, and white cabinetry that mixes beautifully with materials such as wood and marble.

“I’m definitely influenced by my British heritage,” says Peacock. “I have lived in the USA for 30 years now and have traveled all over the world, which does absolutely influence me, but the proportions and material selections are firmly rooted in my memory of growing up in the UK.”

And while the brand remains rooted in its traditional heritage, Peacock says there’s a growing request for more contemporary styling. To meet the demand, the brand has just launched its most contemporary look yet, the Motra collection, which comes in wood stained or painted finishes.

“I have always liked a simple, clean aesthetic even with our more traditional collections,” says Peacock, “but currently I am excited by the thought of developing more modern mixed material collections. I believe that our clients want furniture-quality cabinetry that looks current but not necessarily minimalist.”

The Refectory collection takes inspiration from English prep school dining halls, and combines quarter sawn oak, hand brushed, fitted cabinetry with simple stepped detailing, large architectural moldings, and Christopher Peacock’s signature oversized latches.

The Culinarium collection was conceived of during a trip to the Flanders region of Belgium, and inspired by the restrained interiors and the strong architecture of the region, with bespoke copper hardware and fittings.

Quarter sawn white oak or black walnut are combined with hand-brushed paint finishes for the beach-inspired Montauk collection, which can be customized with an endless number of metal finishes, materials, and paint colors.

Christopher Peacock is open to the public, 1700 Oak Lawn Avenue, Suite 100, 888-889-8891, peacockhome.com.
