Deep Ellum’s New 26-Story High-Rise Promises to be Epic

A new 26-story luxury high-rise called The Hamilton is celebrating its topping out at The Epic development in Deep Ellum. The upcoming mixed-use development includes the apartments, a hotel, an office building and retail, which will definitely draw more residents to Deep Ellum.

Scheduled to open in January 2020, the luxurious Hamilton will be a 310-unit multifamily apartment building located at 2525 Elm Street. Amenities include a private resident bar, full fitness center with spin and yoga rooms, resort style pool deck, bike storage and repair station, pet spa, concierge services, media tunnel with private reading nooks, and makers space. This will be high-end living.

StreetLights Residential partnered with Westdale Real Estate and Asset Management on the project, who owns and developed The Epic.

“When StreetLights builds, we build with purpose. We are committed to creating distinctive, multi-family communities that add value to the surrounding neighborhoods,” says Tom Bakewell, StreetLights’ president of development.

“Deep Ellum is unique and by applying a community-driven approach to the design of The Hamilton, we hope to create an authentic project that is both warm and inviting for residents and compliments the historically significant neighborhood.”

As for the look of the building, the distinctive architectural design features vivid colors with exposed brick and steel features. In an attempt to capture Deep Ellum’s distinctive vibe, The Hamilton will feature commissioned art installations from local artists and original custom furnishings.

Next door, The Pittman Hotel, a Kimpton flag, is housed in the historical Knights of Pythias Temple. This was the first commercial Dallas building built by and for African-American professionals. The hotel will be seven stories high with 163 rooms. There will also be 5,000 square feet of connected retail.

The office building, The Epic, is 251,000 square feet and includes a Sky Lounge, private terraces, a fitness center, bike storage, a restaurant and parking.

If you thought Deep Ellum was crowded now, just wait until The Epic is open for business. This eclectic neighborhood is changing — as more people realize it’s the place they want to be.
