A long-awaited, much-hyped mix-used development MetroPark Square is getting ready to mix it up. The district in Shenandoah, north of Houston near The Woodlands, will officially open this March. The development, located at Highway 242 and the southeast corner of I-45, was first revealed back in 2017.

The grand opening details are still under wraps, but you can expect to hear all about them in the coming months. Food, music, games and a celebration on the lawn are in the works. Dallas-based Sam Moon Group is the developer of the upcoming 69-acre shopping and dining mecca.

“The city of Shenandoah is thrilled for MetroPark Square and all of the attention it will bring to Shenandoah and The Woodlands area,” Shenandoah’s Convention and Visitors Bureau director John Mayner says in a statement.

But you don’t have to wait til March to get a taste of MetroPark. Its previously announced 41,500-square-foot AMC MetroPark 10 Movie Theater will open in February. It’s been called Shenandoah’s very first movie theater.

“We are looking forward to the completion of the AMC movie theater at MetroPark Square. We are confident that MetroPark Square will re-energize the Shenandoah and The Woodlands area and offer visitors a unique, upscale experience,” Sam Moon Group vice president Daniel Moon says in a statement.

Still, you’ve got to sit back before you strap into the events at upcoming indoor adventure park Urban Air. The park, which’ll be jam-packed with high-octane options such as a trampoline range, ninja warrior course, wipeout ride, ropes course, climbing wall and indoor skydiving, doesn’t open until March.
