For raw vegans, Be Raw on 6005 Berkshire Lane is the place to go. The menu features raw vegan and gluten-free dishes and desserts. To get in your greens and vegetables with ease, the cafe sells cold-pressed organic juices. Healing waters such as cinnamon water and rose water are also for sale in case you are in need of a little pick me up.

Be Raw proves that raw vegan food doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless. It features a variety of dishes such as pad Thai and “rawchos.” Even if you aren’t raw vegan, it’s a good place to visit if you want to try something new.

For those interested in yoga and meditation, Cosmic Cafe at 2912 Oak Lawn Avenue is a must visit. Many of the Indian-American vegetarian dishes can be made vegan, and the restaurant has an activity calendar featuring yoga, meditation and poetry. This place is colorful inside and out with a unique atmosphere.

Although these are vegan restaurant standouts, there are others all over Dallas. Places that are not even primarily vegan often have a few vegan options to try such as the tasty burger spot Twisted Root with its “vegabond” burger.
