Boss Women Who Brunch Emerge as a Force in Dallas: Lawyers, TV Hosts and Reality Stars Are All In

The most important meal of the week just got a little more serious: Power brunching is officially a thing and we’re all here for it. Local organization Boss Women Who Brunch was created to empower women and foster a community of ambitious female professionals through a series of brunch-themed events.

“I couldn’t find that circle of women and I just needed a tribe. I worked in corporate America and I knew there were women who strive for more,” founder Marty McDonald says.

A year and a half later, Boss Women Who Brunch has held about a dozen events in Dallas, highlighting savvy business women in the community like fitness guru Brittani Rettig of Grit by Brit and Lindsey Kilbride, VP of sales at Trunk Club.

Boss Women Who Brunch’s first event of 2018 will be The Ultimate Vision Board Workshop on Saturday, February 24. This brunch is about more than creating a pretty board, though. The all-day workshop aims to provide attendees with a roadmap for accomplishing their goals and a clear vision for the year ahead.

“We know that making vision boards sounds fun, but at the end of the day… we are all about creating intentional goals. And intentional goals come from a totally different place than making pretty boards,” McDonald says.

Attendees will hear from successful women including Emmy-nominated TV host Kela Walker, Necole Kane (whose blog, xoNecole was just acquired by production firm Will Packer Media), and former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay.

“She’s from The Bachelorette and that’s how everybody knows her, but she’s also a lawyer, and she’s a millennial, and she has a story to tell from being in corporate America,” McDonald adds.

For McDonald, finding a tribe of strong and supportive women has been pivotal in building her career.

“We talk about ‘What does your more look like?’ and you can achieve it on your own all day long, but it’s way better when you have a cheerleading squad rooting for you and really being able to see your growth,” she says.

The brunch isn’t all business, though. There will be mini dance parties throughout the day, complimentary manicures from Cherry App and MiniLuxe, mini massages, snacks and a bubbly bar.

Tickets for the event are $150 for general admission and $199 for VIP access; learn more here
