Houston’s Highly Anticipated Downtown Food Hall Adds Two New Bars

Downtown’s Finn Hall is in it for the long haul — and this Houston skyscraper food hall aims to start things right. PaperCity‘s learned its new bar — in some ways the centerpiece of the first floor — will be called St. Jac’s.

This bar will be centered around craft beer, wines and or specialty cocktails. The food hall’s mezzanine bar, which is named Swallow’s Nest, will be more focused on spirits.

Fin Hall’s website is now fully up-and-running — and it includes detailed sample menus for each of the 10 independent restaurant vendors. The new foodie mecca, in the glamorous environs of The Jones on Main in the JPMorgan Chase and Co. Building, is expected to open later this summer.

Finn Hall has revealed the identity of its vendors in a slow trickle for a while now. There are names you’ve surely heard —and loved— before, like Mala Sichuan Bistro, Goode Co. Tacqueria, Dish Society and even caffeine haven Amaya Coffee.

There’ll be some familiarity, of course, but you’ve never seen these restaurants quite like this before. Each outpost is shaking things up.

Mala Sichuan will hone in on personal plates and breakfast. For Goode Co., the new spot means tacos, tacos and more tacos, along with a bulk menu. Dish Society will maintain its farm-to-table freshness, just on a smaller scale. Amaya Coffee is Amaya Roasting’s very first retail shop. The owner vows its new affogato will wow.

There are some new names from some oldies but goodies, like Mr. Nice Pie, a pizza joint backed by the owners of Moon Tower Inn, Love Buzz and Voodoo Queen Daiquiri Dive. Finn Hall’s seafood spot, Low Tide, comes from the minds behind Harold’s Restaurant & Tap Room.

Four Finn Hall restaurants are first-time brick-and-mortars. Oddball Eats, Craft Burger, Yong and Sit Lo are migrating from food trucks and low-key spaces to their very own permanent, physical locales.

Finn Hall’s almost ready. And drinks are a big part of its vision. You will be able to snag your food and bring any and all of it to St. Jac’s and Swallow’s Nest, the new bars.
