Another Unique Restaurant Pumps Up West Village’s Food Power

Ready for South American Comfort Food?

West Village is continuing to up its culinary cred. Following the recent opening of Pok The Raw Bar (try their matcha; you will soon be a convert), another unique restaurant has the Uptown Dallas shopping center buzzing.

Late last week, Nazca Kitchen opened its second location on the corner of Noble and Cityplace West (its flagship opened in 2012 at Walnut Hill), serving up comfort food influenced by South American fare.

After traveling to South America more than 10 years ago, Nazca owner Craig Collins developed a passion for the country’s cuisine and culture. At the restaurant, plates include the seafood-stuffed avocado, Chilean-spiced grilled shrimp, chicken creola soup, ceviche, empanadas, and an achiote salmon filet.

“In South America, food is the common thread in a cultural landscape woven for thousands of years by African, Asian, Indian, and European influences,” Collins says. “Our menu is a diverse selection of our take on these dishes.”

Nazca’s consulting chef in charge is Julia Lopez, who arrives at the restaurant following a position as executive chef for La Duni Latin Café.

Nazca offers its all-day menu every day of the week, plus weekend brunch. (Order a mimosa and the chorizo perico wrap with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, chorizo, onions, peppers, potato, fried yuca, and cilantro.) Stop by Monday to Thursday, 11 am to 10 pm; Friday and Saturday, 11 am to 11 pm; or Sunday, 11 am to 9 pm.

3700 McKinney, Suite 140, 469.420.5926.
