New Biscuit Restaurant Shakes Up North Texas’ Waterfront: Sandwiches, Tater Tots and Patio Fun Await on The Boardwalk

We’ve all heard and repeated the timeless Beatles phrase, “All you need is love,” but the newest rendition, “All you knead is love” might surpass the classic. At least at Dallas’ new fast, Southern comfort restaurant, The Biscuit Bar. This is a spot where one can get virtually anything on a fresh, warm, buttery piece of bread.

Located at The Boardwalk in Plano’s Granite Park, the Biscuit Bar is a concept from Granite Properties. The cuisine is a family tradition born from the kitchen of husband and wife founders, Jake and Janie Burkett. They crafted DIY biscuit bars for family and friends that became a major hit. The Biscuit Bar combines casual and rapid service with those vaunted biscuits.

Options from the menu include an array of savory and sweet options, such as the Hoss – named after Janie’s father – which wraps southern fried chicken, bacon, jack and cheddar cheese, honey butter and house made sausage gravy onto a fluffy biscuit. The Nanner Puddin’ is a combo of fresh bananas, vanilla bean pudding, ‘Nilla wafers and homemade whipped cream. Classic tater tots, sweet potato tots and crazier tot concoctions, such as Holiday Style — made with brown sugar, pecan streusel and toasted marshmallows — are also featured.

The Biscuit Bar will be neighbors with other new spots making their debut on The Boardwalk this summer, including Union Bear Brewing, Chips Old Fashioned Hamburgers, and HookLine. The Boardwalk is a 30,000 square foot waterfront development —‚and Biscuit Bar boasts an expansive outdoor patio.

One neat touch to the new biscuit haven? You can walk right up to the big window and watch as the biscuits are made from scratch, all while enjoying the view from the waterfront.
