New Houston Food Hall to Rise Near White Oak Concert Mecca, Create a More Complete Destination Spot

Expect Vietnamese Food, Gourmet Coffee, Good Dog and More

We’re just a few months into 2019, and the Houston food hall mania hasn’t slowed down one bit. Between the classic Conservatory, the opening of Finn Hall and the upcoming Bravery Chef Hall, Lyric Market, Understory and Politan in Rice Village, it’s enough to give even the most avid foodie whiplash.

Now, you can add one more high-profile food hall to your must-visit list. In the next few months, a brand new food hall will be swinging open its doors not too far from White Oak Music Hall at 2645 Main Street.

Nothing is stalling this food hall craze in the Space City.

Houston’s newest food hall is all coming to fruition, years after it was first rumored. PaperCity  first reported about plans for “a much more ambitious Les Givral’s restaurant along the water somewhat modeled after Austin’s beloved Mozart’s Coffee” near White Oak Music Hall all the way back in October of 2016. This has been in the works for some time.

The owners of Les Givral’s Kahve and Oui Banh Mi are behind this new food hall. They’ve brainstormed a new anchor restaurant, Vietnamese like its predecessors, called Oui Eats.

ABC Realty Advisors — the commercial real estate firm backing the new food hall development — details plans for six vendors on its website. Five of the food hall restaurant will occupy the first floor, including the forthcoming Oui Eats, a new location for gourmet coffee shop Double Trouble Caffeine & Cocktails and a new outpost of the Good Dog Houston hot dog haven. Each vendor, including those who are yet to be determined, will get roughly 1,200 square feet of space to create their mini restaurant world.

When contacted by PaperCity, ABC officials said they have no further comment at this time.

One more tenant is listed on ABC’s site, and it’s an eyebrow raising one. The second floor will be home to Lantern by Ruggles, a restaurant coming in at 5,833 square feet and belongs to none other than controversial Houston chef Bruce Molzan.

While it is unclear how involved Molzan will be with the restaurant, his company still owns the Ruggles trademark.
