PC Moment: New York Times best-selling author, No One Cares About Crazy PeopleRon Powers powerfully shared his difficult story of having two sons diagnosed with schizophrenia and losing one to the disease. His message of those struggling with mental issues was the heartbeat of the luncheon, proceeds from which help the center and institute fill the unmet needs for mental health care in the Houston community.

Houston Methodist president and CEO Dr. Marc Boom accepted the Chrysalis Award on behalf of Houston Methodist, which was recognized for its commitment to providing compassionate care for those with mental health issues.

More than 550 packed the ballroom for the fundraiser chaired by Katherine and Paul Murphy.
