BY Oyinda Odewale // 02.21.19

What: BakerRipley’s annual fundraiser, this year titled “Not Just Another Luncheon”

Where: Hilton Americas-Houston

PC Moment: Nearly 700 guests raised a whopping $950,000 in honor of the community service agency’s 112th anniversary of serving low-income families in the Greater Houston Area. The luncheon included tours of some of BakerRipley’s most innovative programs such as Fab Lab Houston, the Dementia Day Center, and BakerRipley’s immigration and small business programs, just to name a few, all without stepping beyond the walls of the hotel ballroom. Guests also had the opportunity to meet residents who benefit from these programs.

Ric Campo chaired the high-powered gathering that included remarks from Mayor Sylvester Turner, BakerRipley president and CEO Claudia Aguirre, and BakerRipley board chair Gwen Emmett.

For more than a century, BakerRipley has provided innovative community-based solutions to help low-income families in emerging neighborhoods at more than 60 service locations. Close to 600,000 individuals across the state are served by BakerRipley programs.
