What: Habitat for Horses and Ginger Barber Interior Design‘s 6th Annual “Barnraiser”

Where: Goode Company’s Armadillo Palace

PC Moment: A barbecue buffet dinner fit for a King Ranch mogul, country music blaring, an overflow of signature “Barn” Goode margaritas, and a World Series win shaking Goode’s Armadillo Palace? “Barnraiser” was certainly the tale of this night.

Vice president of Habitat for Horses, Ginger Barber of Ginger Barber Interior Design, headed the evening for equestrians and horse lovers alike for a good cause.

Partygoers held their lucky horseshoe tight as auctioneer, Andrew Bost headlined the night’s live auction featuring luxuriously exclusive getaways to the Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas, donated by Colleen and David Marks, a weekend stay in Cinnamon Shore on Mustang Island, and a Nantucket escape donated by Phoebe and Bobby Tudor. Those that lost the bidding war were given a second chance, to win either a Keith Urban signed guitar or a Karen Sachar original photograph, and other door prizes.

Adding boot-scootin’ fun to the night was Shake Russell and his band.

Before World Series cheers took over the Houston streets, Habitat for Horses banked and reined in more than $100,000 for the organization’s dedication to equine rescue, while establishing connections with people who can benefit emotionally from interaction and involvement with horses.
