Dallas’ New Home Mecca Draws a Star-Studded Crowd: The Sharpest Dressed Store in Texas

Arriving at the newly renovated Forty Five Ten For Home, one could practically feel guests buzzing with excitement during the shop’s grand opening celebration. The place was packed to the rafters with art types and décor enthusiasts alike, making it something of a modern day melting pot brimming with megawatt showroom owners, gallerists, burgeoning artists and more.

Think Utopian paradise where there is a little something to please even the most discerning eyes. And thanks to Forty Five Ten president and co-founder Brian Bolke, For Home creative director Rob Dailey, and home buyer Lucy McCabe, the store is brining out the big guns of design including George Cameron Nash, Ann and David Sutherland, Jan Showers, Emily Summers, Jan Barboglio, and many more (some of who once were exclusively to-the-trade).

Toasting the sleek new digs — sitting pretty on McKinney Avenue — were top designers and decophiles including Dunhill Partners, Inc. founder and president  Bill Hutchinson; bodron+fruit co-founder Mil Bodron; architect/interior designer Gonazlo Bueno, and co-owner of the contemporary gallery Craighead Green Kenneth Craighead. Along with fellow guests, they spent the evening poring through every nook and corner of the carefully curated boutique which is as sharp looking as one of Allan Knight’s chic Lucite chairs (which too can be found at For Home.) And thanks to Rob Dailey, who co-hosted the swank coterie with gal pal, Peggy Levinson, the crowd couldn’t get enough.

A benevolent bonus: For Home collaborated with Lisa Robison and Kim Turner of Dwell with Dignity, and 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds went to the non-profit organization that aids poverty-stricken families. The soirée also celebrated Moll Anderson on the launch of her newest tome, Change Your Home, Change Your Life with Color. A creative gathering to be sure, revelers spent the night mingling — a glass of Veuve in hand — and talking shop. Especially with the inspiring collection that canvased the new it spot.
