Hot Cars, Hot Fashions and Hot People Give this River Oaks Summer Party a Wild Kick: Sweltering in Style

BY // 07.19.17

From age 16, entrepreneur Ted Nguyen has been an ardent disciple of Dolce & Gabbana. So when the Italian design house delivered its Pre-Fall 2017 collection to the River Oaks District boutique, they tapped Nguyen, owner of a successful exotic car studio, an auto distribution business and an investments firm, to co-host a mid-summer fete.

This explains the collection of sizzling wheels lining the sidewalks around the store on this particular night. Nguyen and his well-heeled customers from EVS Motors Performance Studios, and D&G regulars arrived for the evening of fashion and frolic in an eye-popping parade of Ferraris, Porsches and Bentleys.

Co-hosting was store manager Bernie Cantu, dressed conservatively in all black, while Nguyen rocked the fashion scene in a gold brocade D&G smoking jacket and gold loafers, also on brand. Making a similar fashion splash, Cantu’s husband, Rubens Franz, walked on the wild side in zebra-striped slacks from the D&G’s 2017 spring-summer collection, topped by a black poplin shirt and finished off with white patent leather loafers.

Nguyen’s wife, Anita, stayed loyal to the brand as well, wearing a D&G frock in one of the house’s wildly popular prints.

The University of Houston graduate tells PaperCity that he has been brand loyal since 1994, even when, as a high school student, he had to save up for three or four months to buy a pair of D&G slacks or a shirt. With that kind of loyalty, Nguyen was the perfect pick to co-host this mid-summer fashion bash. The style suits the man who owns not only EVS Motors but also EVS Distribution and TrusTED Investments.
