What: Lafayette Loves Women Artists: A New Event Series Celebrating Women, Art + Fashion

Where: Neiman Marcus NorthPark Center

PC Moment: Who doesn’t love when life imitates art? New York-based brand Lafayette 148’s Spring 2018 collection is an ode to great women artists like Georgia O’Keefe and Joan Mitchell. So, it’s fitting that the label chose modern female artists to help showcase the collection at Neiman Marcus stores across the country and continue the conversation about the intersection of fashion and art.

Neiman Marcus NorthPark hosted Lafayette 148 and influencer Stephanie Nass for a special event celebrating women, art and fashion.

Nass, better known as “Chefanie,” is redefining the culinary arts with impressive edible masterpieces. Her Instagram account, @chefanienass has garnered a large following with its colorful and fashion-forward cakes. In collaboration with Lafayette 148, the influencer created three custom cakes that coordinated with the artist-inspired prints of Spring 2018.

Guests, including Dallas bloggers like Brooke Burnett of One Small Blonde and Amy Jackson of Fashion Jackson, gathered at the NorthPark store on Wednesday afternoon to view the label’s new fashions and the designer sweets.

Nass introduced the runway presentation to the crowd, joking “Now you can have your cake and wear it too!”

This season, Lafayette’s classic, everyday pieces got a refreshing boost from watercolor prints, abstract patterns and graphic silhouettes. Highlights of the show included colorful spring trench coats over clean white trousers; sparkling accessories; and flowing dresses in artful prints.

Nass wore a look straight off the runway – a feminine white shirtdress splattered with blue spots. And, of course, she made a cake to match.

Others in attendance included Krystal Schlegel, Heather Anderson of So Heather, Amy Havins of Dallas Wardrobe, Cathy Williamson of The Middle Page, Rebecca Marin of The Wild Flowers, and Ellen Flower of The Perennial Style.
