On November 5, Touchdown for Teach 2014, chaired by Mike and Carol Linn and DeeDee and Wallis Marsh, took place at Hotel Zaza, where guests enjoyed an inspiring evening with former NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and four-time Super Bowl champion Terry Bradshaw. Exuberated guests raised more than $370,000 for Houston schools. On Thursday, Houston welcomes the British duo behind Marchesa, Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman, as models hit the runway for The Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation‘s 10th Catwalk for a Cure awareness gala. Spearheaded by chairs Lindley and Jason Arnoldy and Francine and Westy Ballard, the highly anticipated night of fashion and philanthropy, with sponsors Saks Fifth Avenue and PaperCity, was a major success. Also on Thursday, 200 supporters (along with chairs Kolja Rochov and wife Roxanne) of Texas Children’s Cancer Center flew out to Las Vegas to celebrate the 6th annual Casino Night at the Wynn Hotel and Casino, raising just over $490,000 toward crucial funds for pediatric cancer research and treatment. Also on Thursday, Know Autism hosted the Deep in the Heart of Houston Gala Kick-Off party, co-chaired by Perri Kay Palermo and Dr. Sippi Khurana, at Zadok Jewelers, where models decked out in blue showcased clutches by CKW Collections and jewels from Bee Goddess. Saturday this year’s Rice Design Alliance Gala: Draw, honoring William D. Kendall, took place at the Hilton Americas–Houston. Surrounded by 25 floor-to-ceiling images of iconic skyscrapers, more than 900 guests sipped cocktails and danced the night away. The soirée was led by chair Barbara Amelio. Tuesday evening, the 19th annual “What’s Up, Doc?” was chaired by Karla and Jorge Goudet. Guests mingled in the reception area of the Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women, which was adorned with purple and white tulips, before a one-on-one style dinner with one of the 60 surgeons, doctors and specialists who participated in the event.
