What: Preservation Houston‘s Cornerstone Dinner

Where: River Oaks Country Club

PC Moment: The big surprise came with emcees Deborah Duncan and David Paul bursting into “Brick House” and “More Than a Woman,” respectively, before presentation of the annual Good Brick Awards. But the lighted models of Williams Tower that served as centerpieces were the talk of the night as was the display of models of more than 80 Hines buildings from around the world.

It was the perfect visual tribute to Gerald Hines, who received the President’s Award for his contributions to architecture and who had the day named after him, that honor presented by Mayor Sylvester Turner. A standing ovation ensued for the master international developer.
