Who doesn’t love an open house for a spanking new dwelling, particularly when it is in the swank Tanglewood neighborhood? Add to that a book signing with wildly successful designer Elaine Turner and the cachet of powerhouse realtor John Daugherty.

So it was that PaperCity joined forces with the realtor and the author for a night of champagne and surprises.

Joining the party in the  7,651 square foot home at 5683 Longmont Drive were its developer Omid Sharifian, managing partner of Lila Construction & Investment, and his uncle, Amir Matini, president of Posh Construction which built the home.

The multi-tiered evening featured Turner signing her book Breaking the Glass Slipper in the dining room where she explained the premise of her “women empowerment” tome, released in August.

“It’s kind of based on a lot of life experiences that I’ve had and things I discovered about myself through some of the challenges that I’ve gone through as a woman as a mother,” she said. “Sort of talking about the enormous weight we take on as women.

“So I walk through these chapters and talk about sort of debunking all of those myths that we take on as women.”

In the living room, antiques dealer Ernest Maese showcased an etching by George Braque, a John Hansegger still life and a Joan Miro lithograph. In fact, throughout the house, valuable artwork and furnishings from Lewis & Maese brought the various spaces to life.

Holding court in the spacious kitchen were popular restaurant duo Shelley and Shawn Virene, who brought along hors d’oeuvres from their a’Bouzy hot spot. Sud Italia and La Table also presented tempting bites for guests.
