PC Moment: The ” Talking Texas” evening with award-winning writers Mimi Swartz, nonfiction author and Texas Monthly senior executive editor, and Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright, a native Texan, focused their discussion on the joys and frustrations, challenges and thrills of covering the Lone Star State.
The presentation was in keeping with the center’s mission of working to ensure that the greater Houston area remains a top global community. The presenting sponsor of the dinner was Chevron.
Along with dinner and a chat with the authors, Bruce Mann, director of freight mobility at the Port of Houston, received the IMPACT award for his work to combat, train and educate people about human trafficking within the city of Houston.
CHF founder Eugene H. Vaughan was honored on the occasion of his retirement from the board and the executive committee with a proclamation declaring him lifetime Board Member Emeritus and recognizing him in perpetuity as Founding Chairman of the Center for Houston’s Future.
Daniela and Manolo Sanchez served as chairs of the event.
