The World’s Best Costume Party Turns Mega Celebrities Into Happy Fools: See the Crazy Exclusive Photos

BY // 12.01.16

Oh to be on the invitation list for Allison Sarofim and Stuart Parr‘s annual Halloween fete! The celebrities, the glamour, the wildly creative costuming and the opportunity to schmooze amid it all in the couple’s art-filled Manhattan townhouse. This event, held each Saturday before Halloween, is one of several engaging evenings that regularly lands Sarofim on the list of top 100 hostesses nationwide. And PaperCity has the inside scoop.

The theme of this year’s bash was “Prince on Prince,” a play on painter/photographer Richard Prince‘s iconic nurses and the singer/songwriter Prince. Thus, you had “nurse” Martha Stewart, Marc Jacobs as a female body builder, and Tory Burch as a hip Prince groupie. And then, there was Uma Thurman, bucking the trend in basic black.

Sarofim, of course, rocked the night with her interpretation of Prince’s “Diamonds and Pearls.” Her bespoke top and evening pants were draped with a lavender Roberto Cavalli kimono, strings of Mikimoto pearls and ropes of faux diamonds, the jewels, Sarofim allowed, weighing 30 pounds. Parr dressed in a white suit speckled with purple raindrops and the image of a Richard Prince nurse on the back, the creation of New York artist Kevin Bourgeois.

While guests went mostly over the top, the decorative hit of the night was the motorcycle covered in purple and lavender Swarovski crystals, the handiwork of jewelry and set designer Sarah Sparkles.

“Halloween has always been celebratory because it is my mother’s (Louisa Sarofim) birthday,” the native Houstonian explained. “So I think it was a way to carry on the tradition when I moved to New York.”

Texans in the mix included Houston’s Courtney Sarofim (the hostess’ sister-in-law) and BFF Aliyya Stude, both as Prince cowgirls in black jeans and white T-shirts bearing Prince’s signature ankh, as well as Dallas event planner Todd Fiscus and husband Ceron, who divides his time between salons in Houston and Dallas.

The latter duo tipped the costume scales in bespoke dress — Fiscus as a tribute to “When Doves Cry” and Ceron channeling the iconic singer, their disguises whipped up by Dallas-based designer Nicholas Villaba.
