What: A fashion fete for Houston Grand Opera Young Partners Circle and Opening Night Young Professionals

Where: The Webster

PC Moment: HGO YPC members Carrie and Sverre Brandsberg-Dahl welcomed more than 150 fresh faced opera fans to the swank emporium at The Galleria for an evening of shopping, socializing and singing. What would an opera soiree be without a few high notes? The delightful musical element was provided by HGO Studio artists bass Anthony Robin Schneider and pianist Peter Walsh, performing  “Il Lacerato Spirito” from Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. HGO assistant artistic director Paul Hopper enticed the potential audience with a preview of the 2017/18 season, which launches on October 20 with a new production of Verdi’s La Traviata.

As might be expected at the hip Webster, the musical scene was played out against a colorful backdrop of luxury looks from Christian Dior, Dries Van Notten, Saint Laurent, Gucci, Dior and more.

Befitting the luxe fashion and tony entertainment, bubbly flowed and guests feasted on a yummy assortment of French-flavored party foods from Artisans‘ chef Jacques Fox.

Who: Matt Johns, Claire Cormier-Thielke, Duyen and Mark Huynh, Paige Myrick, Michelle Avina, Carolyn Dorros, Claudio Gutierrez, and Ishwaria and Vivek Subbiah.
