So many choices, so many possibilities. Sidling up to the pop-up Peekaboo Bar in the Fendi boutique in the Galleria, a girl could be overwhelmed while at the same time thrilled at the chance to fully customize her own mini Peekaboo handbag.

The Italian heritage brand is touring the colorful Peekaboo Bar around the country and now through October 5, Houstonians have the opportunity to hop on one of the bar stools and consider the myriad combinations for a unique, tailored bag. In essence, it is about creating your own It bag.

In total, there are 60 different mini Peekaboo available components to choose from, mixing and matching among four of the handbag elements — the body of the bag, the handle, the defender case and the Strap You. Which body material would you choose from the array of denims, leather, embroidery, shearling or exotics? Would you prefer crocodile or lizard?

And then there is the handle to be considered. Should you go with the leather, the shearling, the plexiglass, the glitter, or the crocodile? After that, you must decide on what color.

The defenders, Fendi notescan be embroidered with tone-on-tone or contrasting color thread to embroider a client’s name, initials, or meaningful words. For the finishing touch, clients can choose from a selection of eight different colorful Strap You options with the Fendi FF logo.”

Who knew that buying a handbag could be such creative fun, particularly the iconic mini Peekaboo?

Fendi introduced the Peekaboo in 2008 for the spring 2009 collection and it quickly garnered It bag status and has since held sway as a cornerstone of classic must-have bags. It was designed by Silvia Venturini-Fendi, granddaughter of Adele and Edoardo Fendi, who founded the brand as a small leather goods and fur workshop in Rome in 1925.
