PC Moment: “The women of Dallas are in it to win it,” enthused Ken Downing, VP and fashion director for Neiman Marcus, at the start of The Crystal Charity Ball’s Ten Best Dressed Fashion Show and Luncheon. “We are going to have a show that is going to blow your mind.”

Downing was spot-on with his sentiments about the extraordinary fashion show that was to ensue, by way of legendary fashion designer Carolina Herrera. Featuring 78 looks from Herrera’s Resort 2016 collection, the runway show was one of the largest in Ten Best Dressed history — no doubt a perfect homage to Herrera and her milestone year.

The designer, along with her daughters Carolina Herrera de Baez and Patricia Lansing, were all in attendance, as this was more than just a fashion show and luncheon. Herrera, in honor of her 35th anniversary and tremendous impact on the world of fashion, was presented with the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion.

“Stanley Marcus was an incredible man,” said Herrera upon accepting her award. “He believed in me from the beginning — and 35 years later, here we are today.”

If only Mr. Stanley could see Mrs. Herrera now.
