What: The Arthritis Foundation Halloween “Bone Bash”
Where: Royal Sonesta Hotel
PC Moment: The eight annual costume fête was a sellout with more than 530 grown ups costumed in an international array of disguises, a nod to the Around the World theme. Winning applause for her hot air balloon headdress, created by designer David Peck, was the evening’s chair Ashley Seippel.
In addition to the colorful people-watching, guests tried their luck at casino games, dinner and finally dancing to the sounds of Grupo Kache.
A charitable Halloween bash must have its serious moment and that came with presentation of the honorees Vivian Wise, Prashanth Sunkureddi, and 14-year-old Hallie McLeod, who shared her personal struggles with juvenile arthritis. She also thanked her her pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Ankur Kamdar.
The evening raised $340,000, earmarked for research toward finding a cure for what foundation executive director Jen Torres noted is the number one cause of disability in this country.
PC Seen: Carmen and Butch Mach, Fady Armanious, Abby and Chris Venegas, Lara Bell and Brent Milam, Julie and Robin Goytia, Kristal and Dwayne Francis, Kendra Muecke, Jaquel Andews, Beth Muecke, Laura and Rey Rueda, Nicole Lassiter, Yamile Said, Denisse and Arturo Salomon.
