What: Spirit of Taos presented by Friends of Wilkinson Center
Where: The Lot in Lakewood
PC Moment: With a show of rustic flair like none other, Wilkinson Center pulled off its sold-out Spirit of Taos event on October 28 for a boot-scootin’ crowd of 300. The Lot in Lakewood was the perfect setting for a night filled with live music, margaritas, and the best mini pimento grilled cheese sandwiches you ever did taste.
Guests were wooed with a silent auction that featured incredibly unique and special items, such as a size 15.5 shoe signed by the one and only Dirk Nowitzki. A seated dinner followed with Southwest-flavored food from The Lot and dessert by Emporium Pies. Friends of the Wilkinson Center danced the night away to the funky sounds of Downtown Fever while Flashbox Photo Booth maintained a line out the wooden door.
Who: Event chairs Stephanie Taylor, Sloan Looney Dix, and Meridith Zidell; honorary chairs Cathy and Steve Saxon; executive director of Wilkinson Center Anne Reeder; raffle and silent auction chairs Anthony Contreras and Babo Crain; emcee Matt Thornton; Marsha and Craig Innes, and Robert Baird
