Legendary Fashion Night Brings Plenty of Theatrics and Lexus Raffle
Step Inside the House of DIFFA
By Caroline Hogan //
What do you get when you mix high fashion with philanthropy driven AIDS/HIV awareness? A legendary, one-night only event: the House of DIFFA, otherwise known as the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS. More than 2,000 devotees regularly turn out for this night that promotes and benefits HIV/AIDS services around Texas.
Set every year against the backdrop of an ultra-chic venue in Dallas (this year’s it’s the downtown Omni), the runway production is the main course. This year’s theme offers a Jekyll and Hyde vibe mixed with edgy leathers.. Add a dash of retro and bold colors and you have “Alter Ego,” named perfectly to fit the motif.
Be prepared for surprise guests, high-energy performances and, of course, some of the hottest fashion at the moment straight from the racks of Traffic LA, TenOverSix and Forty Five Ten. Co-chairmen Lee Borchert and Tim Garippa say this year’s show will “shine a light on the hidden half of our personality that helps bring the extraordinary to all of us.”
Get to the event early for pre-dinner cocktails, a silent auction and a stroll through DIFFA’s luxurious designer jacket collection. Local and national designers that will be on display include Zac Posen, Frame, Veronica Beard, Naeem Kahn and more. A raffle will have one lucky party-goer strolling home — or should we say, zooming home — in a new 2018 Lexus NX300 F Sport or 2018 Lexus IS300.
