Fashion Week Shakeup
Givenchy Says “Non” to Paris, Will Show in New York Instead
By Gabrielle Sauls //
September is quickly approaching, and that means New York Fashion Week is just around the corner. This year, showgoers have an unexpected runway to attend. Ricardo Tisci recently announced that the Givenchy Spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection will be presented in New York, as opposed to Paris, where the house traditionally stages its shows. The decision to change locations this season coincides with the opening of the label’s first Manhattan boutique since 2006, which will welcome visitors later this summer. As if the appearance of Tisci and the Givenchy “gang” weren’t enough to create frenzy, performance artist Marina Abramović will serve as art director for the runway presentation.
Below are a few must-have items from Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection to prep your fashion week wardrobe.
Prisme Libre – 2 Taffetas Beige • Pandora Box Mini Leather Crossbody Bag • Lace-Up Bodysuit • Earrings in Gold Tone, Faux Pearl and Rock Crystal • Knit Gladiator Dress • Open Lace-Up Leather Booties • Fringed Jacket
