A Dallas Rising Star’s Big Moment

Update (February 9, 2016): Vogue has named Abby one of the 10 new models to watch during New York Fashion Week this month. Stay tuned for coverage!
Pure adrenaline. That’s what Abby Williamson says she felt walking the runway of Christian Dior‘s spring 2016 haute couture show, held inside a spectacular house of mirrors on the grounds of the Musée Rodin in Paris on Monday, January 25. Although the Southlake, Texas, native — who is signed with Wallflower Management in Dallas and IMG Models in New York — has posed for numerous magazines, including Elle Japan, and most recently walked during NorthPark Center’s 50th anniversary celebrations, this was her major runway debut.
“I was definitely nervous about to walk out,” she says. “But I took a deep breath and was like, okay, let’s do this. The outfit I wore actually wasn’t ready until the day before, late at night. The coat was amazing.”
I first met and interviewed Abby about two years ago, when she was just 15 and beginning what is sure to be a long and exhilarating career, so to see her conquering couture is a thrill. Next up for the model: New York Fashion Week, which kicks off on Thursday, February 11.
