A Texas Treasure
Round Top’s Most Eccentrically Charming Shop is a Family Affair
By Catherine D. Anspon //
Townsend Provisions on Round Top’s Rummell Square stocks signed copies of Austin-based Ryann Ford’s elegiac The Last Stop (PowerHouse Books, $45), a beautiful photographic depiction of America’s vanishing rest stops that hovers between documentation and art. The book has been featured in The New York Times and on CNN, and songwriter Joe Ely contributed the foreword by way of his 1987 classic “Lord of the Highway.”
Ford and her fiancé, Nick Mosley, co-own the charming shop, which stocks their own “Howdy from Round Top” tees, vintage boots, and charming Americana; when the duo is on the road picking finds, it’s run by Nick’s mom, Linda Caraway-Mosley.
Provisions, 101 Bauer Rummel Road, Round Top, 512.468.0580.
