What: Aging Mind Foundation‘s Brews, Bites, & Brain Research event
Where: Katy Trail Ice House
PC Moment: Fall is in full swing. Barbecue, beer, and cocktails recently drew numerous guests to the Ice House, where they celebrated the Aging Mind Foundation’s mission to fund research for Alzheimer’s and dementia.
To date, the Aging Mind Foundation — a nonprofit founded in 2013 by Laree Hulshoff and Bill Booziotis — has raised more than $1.2 million to fund brain research in North Texas. Hulshoff and Booziotis both watched close friends suffer through and ultimately pass away from the cruel effects of Alzheimer’s disease — and they decided they needed to do something about it. Now, the Aging Mind Foundation stands at the forefront of the fight.
Who: Co-chairs Ashley Tatum and Carey Moen, Katy Trail Ice House owner Buddy Cramer, AMF co-founder Laree Hulshoff, Shelle Sills, Michael Tregoning, Jo Marie Lilly, Greg and Carolyn Creed, Barbara Bigham, Elise and Daren Martin, Vivian Lombardi, Holly Forsythe, and Jenna Alexander.
