Beloved Austin Dessert Haven Teases Its New Houston Shop
Get a Sneak Peek Taste

The Austin imports just keep coming. This past year has been filled with an influx of state capital restaurants and shops, everything from Milk + Honey Spa to women’s boutique Kick Pleat. Earlier this week, Austin restaurant favorite Ramen Tatsu-ya also debuted its first Houston location.
Now, the Bayou City is getting a taste of Austin’s sweet tooth as gelato shop Dolce Neve preps for its first Houston outpost. The brainchild of Marco Silvestrini, his sister Francesca, and her fiance Leopoldo Ferrarese, Dolce Neve has earned a reputation as one of Austin’s best and most authentic gelato shops since its 2014 inception, combining traditional Italian techniques with whimsical flavor profiles.
While the new Houston shop won’t officially open until later this spring, Dolce Neve is giving Houstonians a preview of its premium gelato with a one-day pop-up shop. The brand is teaming up with coffee and donut emporium Morningstar — owner David Buehrer is a longtime friend of Silverstrini and encouraged the Houston expansion — for a pre-opening sneak peek.
Dolce Neve’s forthcoming location sits adjacent to Morningstar in the Heights shopping center at 4721 North Main Street.
Patrons can expect Dolce Neve’s signature creamy confections, which are fashioned with local Texas ingredients, featuring flavors like rum and raisins, honey bee pollen, vegan golden milk (a mix of coconut milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black peppercorn), and grapefruit.
Catch Dolce Neve’s pop up on Sunday, February 19 from 2 to 4 pm at Morningstar. For more details, click here.
